Simple Flower Petals Outlines

Our first set of flower outlines contains 24 simple yet bold designs, each featuring thick-line outlines of flower heads and petals. These outlines are perfect for younger children, beginners, or anyone looking for a clean and uncomplicated flower shape to work with. Since they have no shading or intricate details, they provide the perfect blank canvas for creativity. Kids can color them in, cut them out, or use them as stencils for various art projects. Their bold, clear lines also make them ideal for crafts that involve cutting and pasting onto different materials like construction paper or felt.

Because these outlines focus purely on the basic shapes of flowers, they’re great for early learners developing fine motor skills. They offer a simple way to introduce children to different flower forms without overwhelming them with intricate details. You can use these templates to teach basic flower recognition, encourage creativity, or even as part of a fun nature-themed activity. Whether used for educational purposes, home decor, or just for a fun coloring session, these thick-lined flower outlines provide an easy and enjoyable way to get creative with floral designs.

Detailed Flower Outlines

For those looking for something more intricate, our second set includes 12 beautifully detailed flower outlines featuring shading and finer details. These designs highlight the unique characteristics of different flowers, including well-known favorites such as sunflowers, roses, tulips, daisies, and many more. The shading within each flower gives them added depth, making them a great resource for older children and adults who enjoy more advanced coloring pages. Whether you’re practicing shading techniques or creating a more lifelike floral masterpiece, these outlines provide the perfect base.

Not only are these detailed flowers wonderful for coloring, but they also serve as excellent learning tools. Each outline is labeled with the flower’s name, making them a great way for kids to familiarize themselves with different types of flowers. They can be used in educational settings to teach about flower anatomy, plant biology, or simply as a fun way to learn the names of various blooms. Creative & Fun Ways to Use Our Printable Flower Templates

There are so many different creative projects you can do with these free flower templates to print. Here are a few ideas we have for you, so feel free to get inspired and get crafting!

Of course these would be fantastic coloring in pages for kids of all ages (and adults too!). Coloring in helps kids work on their fine motor skills, improves their concentration, can calm them down, and is a great form of self expression. Sit your kids down with these for some quiet time and see what they can create.

Not only would they be perfect for coloring in, but they’re just a great craft to print and get kids to design them in any way they would like. They can colour the flower print outs in, but they could also get creative with glitter, sequins, and pompoms. Whatever you have to hand around you would work well!

They would also be a really useful tool for drawing practice. They would work as great flower stencils or outlines to use, in order to keep any projects you’re working on neat and tidy. Or for older kids who are trying to perfect the art of drawing flowers, they make good reference images which they can use to practice and improving their ability to draw flowers.

They would also be great as part of a collage-style art piece where you could task your kids with making a beautiful Spring themed scene. Print and then cut out flowers. They must color them in or design them nicely, and then find or draw other things they can use within the scene – think bunnies, fluffy clouds, colorful Easter eggs. It would be very cute to get them to draw in their favourite animals all around a bunch of prettily-colored flowers.

If colored in or designed beautifully these flower templates would be great additions to scrapbook pages that need a little more color or theme, or even to add onto the front of homemade cards. For example if you were making cards for Easter or Mother’s Day.

A last craft idea would be to make faux flowers with these as your templates. Decorate or color the flower patterns however you would like, then create a stem – for example out of a green straw – and attach these together. If you do this multiple times you have a lovely bouquet of flowers to display somewhere or gift to a friend or special someone.

Apart from their many crafting uses, there are other interesting ways to put these printable flower patterns to use. Firstly as a really sweet decoration – just decorate the flower outlines and then use them to put onto signs, posters, garlands, homemade flower crowns, window displays, and so much more. They’d be the perfect addition at your Spring or Easter themed party!

Or play a fun Spring scavenger hunt with them – hide them around the room and kids win a prize when they find a hidden flower.

Lastly, one that would be great for kids of all ages would be a learning opportunity (either at home or in the classroom) about the different names and parts of flowers. You can teach little ones words like petal and stem in order to work on their vocabulary and spelling. And for older kids this would be a great resource to help teach them the scientific names of the parts of flowers in their biology classes.

Of course it would also be great for kids of all ages to learn the different names of flowers and how to recognise them – like roses, sunflowers, and tulips. There are a number included in the detailed outlines section.
