How to Play Ludo: A Beginner's Guide

Ludo is a fun and easy-to-learn board game that involves both luck and strategy. The goal is to move all your pieces around the board and into your home column before your opponents. Here’s how to play:

1. Set Up the Game

  • Each player chooses a color and takes four counters of that color.
  • Place your counters in the starting area of your color (the corner of the board).
  • The player with the highest roll of the dice goes first.

2. Starting the Game

  • To start moving a counter, roll a 6. If you roll a 6, place one of your counters on the starting square (the large square marked with a star). You can roll again after getting a 6.
  • If you roll anything other than a 6, pass the dice to the next player.

3. Moving Your Counters

  • After your counter is on the board, move it forward the number of spaces shown on the dice.
  • If you land on a square occupied by an opponent’s counter, their counter is sent back to the starting area, and they must roll a 6 to bring it back into play.

4. Reaching Your Home

  • The home area is the colored column that leads to the final home space (the square marked with a star in the center of your color’s column).
  • To enter your home column, you need to roll the exact number needed to land on the entry square.

5. Winning the Game

  • The first player to get all four of their counters into their home area wins the game!
